SUMMARY:The Facility Perspective on Liquid Cooling: Experiences and Propo
 sed Open Specification
DESCRIPTION:Birds of a Feather\nState of the Practice, Tech Program Reg Pa
ss, Exhibits Reg Pass, Exhibits - Exhibit Hall Only Reg Pass\n\nThe Facili
ty Perspective on Liquid Cooling: Experiences and Proposed Open Specifica
tion\n\nSartor, Huber, Bailey, Martinez, Patterson...\n\nAs compute densit
ies increase, there is growing demand to more effectively cool power-dense
equipment and improve energy efficiency with compressor-less cooling. Thi
s BoF will explore the steps necessary to take advantage of warm liquid-co
oling in the data-center and introduce an open-specification for a seconda
ry fluid warm liquid-cooled rack.. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
and China Institute of Electronics steer this initiative and seek input fr
om the HPC community. This BoF will feature a panel of seasoned operation
s managers from major supercomputing centers to talk about strategies for
effectively enabling warm-water cooling, including a discussion on the nee
 d for industry standards.
