SUMMARY:Containers in HPC
DESCRIPTION:Birds of a Feather\nSystem Software, Tech Program Reg Pass, Ex
hibits Reg Pass, Exhibits - Exhibit Hall Only Reg Pass\n\nContainers in HP
C\n\nYounge, Canon, Priedhorsky, Snavely, Jennings\n\nContainer computing
has revolutionized how many industries and enterprises develop and deploy
software and services. Recently, this model has gained traction in the HPC
community through enabling technologies like Charliecloud, Docker, Kubern
etes, Shifter, and Singularity. While containers look to provide greater
software flexibility, reliability, ease of deployment, and portability for
users, there are still open questions that need to be addressed as we rac
e toward adoption in the exascale era. In this BoF, we will provide an op
portunity for the HPC community to engage with the leaders in the field wh
o can provide real-world experiences to containerization in HPC.
